Most travertine price guides quote a range per square foot that nobody can check. This one starts from a contract we built and were paid for: about 470 square feet of French-pattern travertine at a Dallas courtyard, plus a matching walkway to the driveway, for $8,500 all in.
That number is honest and it is also favourable. The courtyard already had a gravel base that only needed grading, supplementing and compaction. That is the single biggest thing that can go either way on a stone patio, and on that job it went our way.
So read the examples below as directions from a known point, not as quotes. The walk is where your number comes from.

All i30 Builders full-project prices include normal mobilization, ordinary protection of adjacent areas, labor, standard materials listed in the scope, permits and standard city inspections, project coordination, normal cleanup, and a one-year workmanship warranty on the listed scope.

Common Questions
Travertine cost questions
Is the $8,500 a minimum?
No. It is what one job cost, published because it is real, not because it is a floor. A smaller patio costs less than that and a pool deck costs more. We do not publish a minimum for stone work because we have not built enough of it to set one honestly.
Why is base preparation such a big part of the price?
Because it is most of the risk. Travertine is laid dry over compacted base, and the base is what keeps the field flat through a wet spring and a dry August on expansive clay. Reusing a sound base saves real money. Reusing a bad one is how a patio fails, so we check before we price it.
Is the sealer included?
Yes. One coat of penetrating sealer after the field is set and cured is in the price. A color-enhancing sealer that deepens the stone is an upgrade.
How long does it take?
The Dallas courtyard and walkway took three working days: base work first, then the field, the edges and steps, then sand and sealer. Larger areas and pool decks run longer, mostly because of the cutting.
