What We Build in Travertine
01
Tumbled travertine patios on a compacted, engineered base, single-size fields or four-size French pattern. Joints sanded, edges restrained, surface pitched to drain away from the home.
02
Straight or sweeping curved walkways in natural travertine, set to a true line through beds and grade changes, the look that carries from side yard to back patio.
03
Travertine reads cooler underfoot than concrete and resists pool-chemical wear. Decking set on proper base with drainage pitched away from the pool and foundation.
04
Bullnose or straight-edge travertine coping at the pool edge, set and grouted to a clean, comfortable, slip-aware finish.
05
Travertine-clad steps that tie grade into door thresholds and level changes, with tread, riser, and return faces wrapped in matching stone.
06
Have a sound concrete slab? We mortar-set travertine over it with crack-isolation where needed, a finished stone surface on your existing footprint.

Travertine stays noticeably cooler than concrete or dark pavers in the Texas sun, the reason it's a favorite around pools.
Tumbled travertine has a textured, slip-aware surface that works wet or dry, deck-side or walkway.
Warm, varied natural color that ties into brick, stone, and stucco without looking like a poured slab.
We engineer the base for North Texas clay and pitch for drainage, so the stone stays flush and stable, the part most installs get wrong.
Common Travertine Questions
Sand-set travertine patios run $36/SF (from an $8,500 minimum); walkways $40/SF; French/Versailles pattern $44/SF; pool decks $42/SF; mortar-set over an existing slab $48/SF. Coping runs $55/LF and accent steps $850 each. All-in standards, base, stone, joints, edge restraint, drainage pitch, normal cleanup, and a one-year workmanship warranty. See the full travertine cost page for what moves the number.
Yes, with the right base. The failure point for any stone surface here is the base, not the stone. We build adequate compacted aggregate depth and pitch the surface to drain, so the travertine stays flush and stable through clay-soil movement and heavy North Texas rain.
It's one of the best choices. Travertine stays noticeably cooler underfoot than concrete or dark pavers, has natural slip resistance when tumbled, and resists pool-chemical wear. We pitch the deck to drain away from the pool and house and set matching coping at the edge.
If the slab is sound, yes, we mortar-set travertine over it with crack-isolation membrane where needed, which keeps your existing footprint and gives you a finished natural-stone surface. If the slab is failing, we'll tell you at the walk rather than tile over a problem.
Single-size fields, running-bond, ashlar, and the four-size French (Versailles) pattern. We bring samples and lay out the pattern to your space at the consult, the French pattern is the warm, modular look most homeowners picture for a travertine patio or walkway.
We recommend a penetrating sealer on patios and pool decks ($2.50/SF) to slow staining and make cleanup easier. It's optional and quoted as a line item, so you decide, it doesn't change the structure of the install.
