The i30 Approach
Prep-first. Scope before deposit. No surprises mid-job.
The reason paint quotes go off the rails is almost never the paint itself — it’s the prep work that gets uncovered after the room is masked off. We surface the prep scope at the site walk, price it in writing, and you decide whether to include it or defer before deposit.
- Prep-first scope discipline — we don't paint over problems
- Sherwin-Williams + Benjamin Moore product lines specified by application
- Written scope before any deposit
- Surface protection included — floors, fixtures, landscaping
- EPA RRP-aware on pre-1978 homes
Painting FAQs
Frequently asked
Do you do paint-only jobs, or only paint as part of a remodel?
Both — but every paint job follows the same prep-first discipline. We don't quote a paint-only scope without a site walk; the price depends on the substrate condition, prep work needed, and how many coats the color change actually requires. Two-coat builder beige to two-coat builder beige is very different from drywall repair, prime, and three-coat color change.
What paint brands do you use?
Standard scope is Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore — the product line varies by application (Emerald or SuperPaint interior, Duration or Aura exterior, ProClassic on cabinet boxes). If you want a specific brand or product, we'll quote against it; we don't bait-and-switch to a cheaper line at the store.
How much does exterior painting cost in DFW?
For a baseline straight-up exterior repaint with no significant intricacies (no major prep, no specialty substrates, no extensive trim work), recent i30 single-story exterior repaints have landed around $5,000 and double-story exteriors around $7,500. Adds that push the number up: significant siding repair, lead-paint protocol on pre-1978 homes, custom color sampling, premium product lines (e.g., Duration or Aura), extensive trim/fascia/soffit work, and difficult access (gable height, multi-level rooflines). Site walk locks the actual number in writing before deposit.
How long does an interior paint job take?
Depends entirely on scope. A single room with simple prep is a 1–2 day job. A full-suite repaint with drywall repair, trim, and ceiling work in an occupied space sequenced around the resident or tenant runs longer. Real example: a 1,100 SF Rowlett office got a full repaint plus a new room build (partition + door + trim + carpet) in a 3-day window for $7,800. Your timeline gets locked in writing at the site walk.
Do you do exterior painting in summer?
Yes, with a temperature and humidity guardrail. Most paint manufacturers spec a substrate temp below ~95°F and humidity below ~85%. In Texas summers that means early-morning starts on sun-facing walls and rotating the crew around the house through the day. We schedule around forecast, not the calendar.
What's included in a paint quote?
Labor, materials, prep (caulk, drywall patching, sanding, primer where needed), surface protection (floor covering, mask off fixtures), the actual paint coats, and final clean-up. Color samples and consultation are free at the site walk. Surprises mid-job are what push budgets up — we lock the scope before deposit so they don't happen.
Do you handle the lead-paint situation in older homes?
Yes — we follow EPA RRP rules for pre-1978 homes. That includes containment, certified handling, and disposal. If your home is pre-1978, we'll discuss the protocol at the site walk and include it in the scope.
