Arbor Hills Nature Preserve is a 184-acre urban woodland managed by the City of Plano along Parker Road in the western part of the city. It's one of the few places in the DFW metro where you can walk through mature post oak and elm canopy without leaving a dense suburban environment — the preserve is surrounded on all sides by residential neighborhoods and arterials.

Three loop trail systems cover the property: a paved outer trail circling the full perimeter, a hard-packed inner trail through the heart of the woodland, and a natural surface trail along the creek drainage in the western section. The elevation change creates overlook points on the western edge with views across the canopy. Arbor Hills attracts morning runners, dog walkers, trail cyclists, and families from the adjacent neighborhoods. The parking lot on Parker Road fills by 8 AM on Saturday mornings in fall and spring — a reflection of the density of outdoor-active residents in west Plano.
Legacy West, a few miles east, anchors the corporate corridor with Toyota's North American HQ, Liberty Mutual Regional, and a luxury retail district. That commercial presence has elevated residential values in Haggard Farm, Ridgewood Park, Chase Oaks, and the Tollway corridor communities. The pool density in these neighborhoods is high — mid-90s-era homes were built with pool-sized lots — and pool fencing and deck replacement cycles are consistent project types. The adjacent community — subdivisions built in the 1990s and early 2000s along Parker Road, Coit Road, and Legacy Drive — is one of the most active outdoor living renovation markets in Plano.
