Paver patios — base-engineered for clay, compacted right, and set to stay level for years.
Paver patios are one of the most popular hardscape additions in Fate's master-planned communities — the variety of color, pattern, and material options allows homeowners to create outdoor spaces that complement their home's architecture while adding genuine curb appeal and value. We install concrete and natural stone paver systems with proper base prep for Rockwall County's clay conditions.

Scope of Work
Why i30 Builders
Fate's newer subdivisions often have HOA requirements and deed restrictions. We handle all documentation needs and can coordinate with your builder's warranty if your home is still relatively new.
How It Works
Design & Material
We review your space, discuss paver styles and patterns, and assess drainage before quoting.
Excavate & Base
Proper excavation depth, compacted aggregate base, and edge restraint are the foundation of a long-lasting paver install.
Set & Joint
Pavers set to your chosen pattern, vibration-compacted, and polymeric sand jointed for weed resistance.
Walk Through
We verify drainage direction, joint consistency, and edge finish before sign-off.
Paver Patio FAQs for Fate
Concrete pavers in large-format rectangular patterns are most common in Fate because they suit the contemporary and craftsman architecture typical of the subdivisions. Natural travertine and flagstone are popular in higher-end installs. We bring samples to consultation.
Clay soil movement is the primary installation challenge in Rockwall County. We use a compacted aggregate base layer — typically 4–6 inches — followed by a sand setting bed and edge restraint to minimize shifting. Proper base prep is what separates a paver patio that holds its pattern for years from one that shifts in the first season.
In some cases, yes — paver overlays are possible on sound existing slabs. We evaluate the slab condition and height constraints before recommending overlay versus full base construction. Not every slab is suitable for overlay, and we'll be direct if it isn't.
Client Experience
“Our backyard had three problems: no privacy, terrible drainage after every rain, and an ugly cracked concrete pad. i30 Builders fixed all three in one project. Cedar privacy fence along the back and sides, French drain running to the street, and a paver patio over where the old concrete was. They phased it correctly — drainage and grading first, fence second, pavers last. The yard doesn't flood anymore and we actually use the patio now. I've used a lot of contractors over the years and these guys are in the top tier: show up when they say, communicate what's happening, and actually clean up after themselves.”
